"I was at the end of my line with my 2 German Shepherds….until I found Rooby Doo. It’s been a lifesaver for us! Flo showed me how to handle my high energy dog and helped me enjoy my girls again. We’ve been with her for 3 yrs and we’re still learning! It is truly amazing how gifted Flo is with all dogs and making it seem to simple. I don’t know where we’d be without her."

"Rooby-Doo has been amazing! I have a working line Malinois that had a huge prey drive! Before training his energy level was out of control and he was extremely reactive! We’ve been training over a year and a half and have learned to turn his drives on and off! My 4 year old niece visited a year ago and with her running around and squealing really put Ares into an extreme prey drive! Which was pretty dangerous if we had not been around. She came and stayed with us for a week this summer and wow what a difference! My niece was able to follow my obedience commands with Ares and he listened! She even got him to go to place with out any prompting from her auntie! Ares has been a completely calm and relaxed Pup around my high drive niece! Florenza along with our commitment to listen and follow through has worked wonders with Ares! We could not have found a better trainer for our fur baby and us! Thank you so much for giving us the proper tools for Ares! They’ve worked wonders! Also for giving me an outlet to learn and improve my handling skills! Rooby-Doo Rocks!!!!"

"I can't express enough gratitude to Rooby-Doo Canine Academy! I was at my wit's end trying to find a boarding facility for my dog, Charlie. Due to his size and intimidating appearance, many places were reluctant to take him in, but Florenza and her team welcomed him with open arms. They're not just dog lovers; they're professional trainers who really understand how to handle all kinds of dogs. I highly recommend Rooby-Doo Canine Academy."

"We rescued a dog with severe reactivity. It was impossible to walk him or take him anywhere. He was stubborn and didn’t listen to anyone.Florenza trains the dog and the owner. You will learn the skills to handle the dog. The dog learns he doesn’t handle you.Florenza is experienced, skilled and has such passion for the dogs and owners."

“My dog would NOT stop doing doughnuts and destroying everything in his path, but Flo taught the little rascal real good, and now he's the best doggy companion with a zero destruction track record! People hardly believe how he was when they meet him. She's a real good trainer, I recommend!”

“Turned my dog Joe from a lazy couch-potato to a grade-A working dog. Flo is an awesome, charismatic, and effective trainer! That monkey helper is pretty good too.”

"It's rare to find a trainer who prioritizes building solid foundational skills on both ends of the leash and I've seen a significant improvement in my German Shepherd in just a few sessions. Florenza's upbeat and attentive coaching has not only improved my handling, but also my relationship with my dog. Training is becoming fun again and her approach has been instrumental in helping us get started with rebuilding my dog's confidence after previous negative experiences with other trainers. If you're willing to learn and put the work in, you won't be disappointed!"

We have worked with a number of dog experts before. Rooby Doo is miles ahead of everyone else. Here, it's not just what the dog learns, it's what you learn too, and what you and your dog learn together. We have been taught how to practice at home even without the dog so we get muscle memory much as one would perfect a golf swing before hitting the links. This is serious stuff for people who are serious about their dogs. It's a TIME commitment. However it is life changing for the dog and the owner. If you're looking for a serious change in your dog, we recommend you check this place out. We hope you get to see Florenza with one of her dogs. It's amazing and amazing to think it could be you and your dog if you commit.

"Over the years training with florenza she has helped me and my dogs in teaching me how to communicate properly with my dogs as well as create better structure. She is very knowledgeable and helps teach you with your dog so you work as a team. She’s an also a fantastic teacher as well as trainer. Both my dogs jack and Geralt have come so far with me by working with florenza and gaining so much knowledge and skills! You’re truly a special trainer and one of a kind. Thank you for helping us learn, grow and for caring so much about us and not giving up on us!"

About this program

What they say about themselves

Florenza Pizanis founded Rooby-Doo Canine Academy in 2018 after a personal struggle that shaped her training focus. According to her site, she adopted a severely aggressive rescue dog and couldn't find local help to rehabilitate him. That led her to train under experts at a Los Angeles facility, logging thousands of hours with hundreds of dogs before returning to Fresno to open her own business.

Her credentials include CPDT-KA certification, AKC Evaluator status, and certifications in canine fitness, stunt dog judging, and trick dog instruction. She's also competed nationally in IGP (a demanding protection sport), flyball, dock diving, and nosework—titling her own rescue dog to IGP3 level twice, according to her website.

The academy works with dogs across the behavioral spectrum, from puppies needing foundation skills to dogs with serious issues like aggression, reactivity, and separation anxiety. Their site describes an approach focused on identifying root causes and triggers rather than suppressing symptoms, with mandatory evaluations required before starting behavior modification work. Programs include multi-week board-and-train stays, private lessons (on-site, in-home, or via Zoom), and eight-week group courses covering obedience through AKC Canine Good Citizen certification. They also offer training toward trick dog titles and sport competition.

What does Rooby-Doo Canine Academy charge for board and train?

Group classes run eight weeks and cover everything from puppy foundation and basic obedience to Canine Good Citizen prep and advanced reactivity work, with prices ranging from $320 to $400 per course. Private lessons are $150 at the facility or $200 for in-home sessions, the latter designed for issues that occur at home or owners with mobility limitations. Board and train options include a two-week program starting at $2,500 and a four-week option for more advanced work, though pricing for the longer stay isn't published.

Most eight-week group courses cost $320, while specialty classes like Canine Good Citizen and Advanced Reactivity run $400. Private sessions are $150 each, and in-home lessons cost $200. The two-week board and train starts at $2,500; the four-week program requires a quote.
