Today, one of them finally went home. A wonderful client of mine and her mom opened their hearts, and today this sweet girl gets the life she always deserved. I’ll admit, there were days when I questioned myself. I wondered if I was doing enough. I wondered how long they would have to wait. I wondered if they were spending too much of their lives waiting for someone to choose them. Running a business, caring for my own dogs, and fostering so many others meant I couldn’t always spend as much one-on-one time with them as I wished. But one thing never changed: they were always safe. They always had food, fresh water, clean shelter, and someone who refused to give up on them. Sometimes rescue doesn’t look glamorous. Sometimes it’s simply showing up every single day, even when progress feels invisible. Today reminded me that waiting wasn’t wasted. It was simply leading her to the right family. I truly believe that every soul you help in this lifetime leaves a blessing behind. And when I say “soul,” I mean exactly that. I don’t see dogs as “just animals.” I see them as living, feeling souls who experience love, fear, hope, and joy just as deeply as we do.
