Based on what the business publishes about itself
Eastside Hounds takes a trail-based approach to dog training, building their programs around group hikes rather than facility-based sessions. According to their site, the philosophy centers on reconnecting dogs with natural listening skills through pack dynamics and outdoor exercise, they describe this as an alternative to traditional daycare or training environments.
Owner Lindsay runs the operation, which includes training hikes specifically designed for dogs struggling with leash manners, prey drive, or handler focus. Their 7-day boot camp is a stay-and-train program where Lindsay personally monitors dogs throughout the week, combining around-the-clock supervision with daily pack hikes. The business also offers overnight boarding in their Los Angeles home, hosting roughly five dogs per night with access to a fenced yard, a setup they position as a more supervised alternative to kennel-style facilities.
The training hikes themselves aim to reinforce basic commands while building social skills with other dogs and people in outdoor settings. Eastside Hounds notes they're a women-owned local business and provide app-based scheduling with GPS tracking and photo updates during services. Their site appears somewhat dated, and they operate primarily as a pet care and hiking service with training as one component rather than a dedicated training-only business.
Training hikes, private lessons, and a 7-day board-and-train boot camp make up the offerings at Eastside Hounds Dog Training, Hikes, Grooming. The hikes focus on leash skills and reactivity for dogs who struggle on walks, while the boot camp covers basic obedience and leash reactivity over a week-long stay.
