Four program types are available: In-Home Training, Group Classes, Private Lessons, and Board and Train. Group Classes include several options—low-impact, high-impact, off-leash, and training-on-the-go sessions. Board and Train includes handoff sessions with owners to support skill transfer at home. Private Lessons can be arranged at a kennel, though prior approval from that facility is required. In-Home Training covers sessions both at your home and as in-home classes. Pricing for all programs is available on request.

About MeABOUT MEA long time ago, in a far far away land... there lived a little girl and her Shetland Sheepdog, Preston.  This little girl saw a TV show with dogs jumping over hurdles and racing through obstacles.  Preston wants to do this right?? Of course he does!

Spoiler Alert: Preston did NOT want to, but I worked as hard as I could to find other games he enjoyed!

I have since been working to identify what makes dogs click. What makes a dog want to run through a tube? Or jump over a bar? Or race across a field and bite a bad guy? How about what makes them understand their role as part of the human pack?

I have spent upwards of 10 years studying canine behavior, different training theories, shadowing other professionals and working with dogs from all different walks to learn the in's and out's of how to motivate and work each individual dog.  Each and every dog is different, and I pull from my diverse experience to create an individualized, three dimensional training plan for them, instead of taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

My current personal dogs are my most valued co-workers and in return work hard for me. Sparkle holds a Masters title in Barn Hunt, an Advanced Trick Dog title, and NADD DN as well as her AKC CGC. Squirt is my current project pup and foster fail. He came to me with some behavior issues, and has won his spot in my home and heart... But I know someday he'll find his perfect people. Bowser is my sport bred pup with a promising future in nose work and other high energy sports.

What should you ask before booking a board and train in Sacramento?

Ask about overnight staffing, whether owner visits are allowed, how many dogs each trainer handles, which methods and tools are used, whether handoff sessions are included, and what happens if your dog is not a fit mid-program. Clear answers matter more than a polished sales page.

Why do dogs regress after board and train?

Regression after board and train is the most common complaint because skills learned in a training kennel do not automatically transfer to your home. Plan for owner coaching, structured handoff sessions, and a realistic homework plan. See our methodology for how we evaluate program transparency.
