About Stanfur'd k9 - Dog Training

Based on what the business publishes about itself

George M., the trainer behind Stanfur'd K9, brings 25 years of experience that includes competition in AKC obedience, herding, agility, and trick dog sports. According to his site, he studied veterinary medicine before moving into professional training, a background he says informs his approach to reading canine body language and customizing programs to each owner's philosophy rather than applying a single method to every dog.

The board and train programs, which run roughly three to eight weeks, have dogs living in the trainer's home rather than a kennel facility. His site emphasizes that he personally handles all dogs in residence rather than delegating to staff, and describes weekly field trips to stores, parks, and coffee shops as part of the socialization process. For San Francisco owners who prefer to train alongside their dog, he offers private in-home lessons, group classes, and virtual sessions.

The training philosophy, as described on the site, draws on "all four quadrants" of training methodology while centering the owner as the key variable, he frames it as training the human as much as the dog. Programs cover puppies starting around ten weeks old through dogs with established behavior issues, and he also offers service dog training. Follow-up support after graduation is mentioned as part of the ongoing relationship.
