Jas Leverette, the founder and head trainer at California K9 Solutions, brings an unusual background to dog training. Raised in Oakland training dogs and horses while competing in equestrian sports, he went on to earn certifications in Schutzhund and PSA decoy work, compete internationally in dog sport, and title dogs in both IGP and PSA. He later became the host and executive producer of the Netflix docuseries *Canine Intervention*, which according to the company reached the platform's Top 10 and streamed in 190 countries.
The San Jose-based business, which Leverette started in 2009 with just a van and a phone number, has since expanded to locations in Los Angeles, Miami, and New York. Their site reports training over 10,000 dogs and claims partnerships with the San Jose Police Department and a military unit in Turks & Caicos. They describe their method as a proprietary "5-Pillar" system covering obedience, socialization, agility, behavior management, and problem solving, framed as motivation-based training designed to feel like a game for the dog.
The range of services spans puppy foundation work through aggression and anxiety cases to protection dog training and law enforcement K9 work. They also offer a business coaching program for other trainers. The company advertises guaranteed results and states they've never turned away a dog, though prospective clients should clarify what any guarantee covers before enrolling.
